Palliative Care

Offering comfort and support when curative treatment may not be enough

Coping with Illness is Difficult. We Can Help.

St. Ann Rehabilitation & Nursing Center offers palliative care for individuals with serious long-term illnesses, and who are no longer seeking curative treatment.

Our compassionate staff is dedicated to promoting the dignity of life and reducing pain, stress and discomfort. We honor each individual’s wishes and work with their families to ensure the best possible care plan.

What is Palliative Care?

Palliative care is sometimes seen as interchangeable with hospice care, which is not really the case. Palliative care can be appropriate for people at any time during an illness, not just when they may be near the end of life.

Palliative care is best suited in cases of chronic disease or illness, in situations where symptoms can be managed or alleviated, allowing individuals to live their lives to the fullest.

Choosing Our Setting

Palliative care is specialized care that does not necessarily replace the primary treatment for an illness but can work with that treatment to prevent or ease pain and discomfort. Throughout these difficult times, our staff is dedicated to working with patients and families to improve their overall quality of life.

Palliative care at St. Ann is provided by highly trained physicians, nurses, social workers and other professionals. Each care plan is carefully designed to follow the patient’s needs and wishes.

When you come through the doors of St. Ann, you not only enter a building that has proudly served the needs of thousands of residents over the past 60 years, you become part of a vibrant community.

Step into the lobby area and you’ll notice how quaint a community we are. As you walk down the front hall and pass the activity room and dining area, you will see there is always something to do – whether it’s residents taking in new hobbies, reading a new mystery book, listening to music or enjoying plenty of social time (and laughs) with each other.

All of our 54 resident rooms (mostly private) are spaced out across several wings, giving you the feeling of a neighborhood community. Rooms are personalized in a way that makes it feel like home. You’re welcome to bring almost anything, whether it’s your favorite pillow, photos of your family, your clothing, electronics, personal care items or even your own furniture. Your room comes equipped with Wi-Fi, phone and cable television, so you can continually stay connected with loved ones, the world around you or simply enjoy your favorite television program. Visitors are always welcome.

Our executive chef is always at the ready with various culinary options and flexible meal schedules. You can enjoy fresh food in our beautiful restaurant-style dining room or in the privacy of your own room. Guests are welcome to visit our gift shop for small food items, drinks and other accessories.

There is never a dull moment, either, for those who love to stay busy. Regular events include games, entertainment, movies, shopping trips and plenty of music. You can always balance that with downtime and rest as needed. The outdoor terrace is the perfect place to reflect or spend precious time with family.

Your safety, health and well-being form the foundation of the high-quality healthcare at St. Ann.

We are proud of our resident and family satisfaction levels, which are both well above national averages. 100% of our residents would recommend St. Ann to others.
