“I am happier as a person because of what I get out of what I do.” Michael never thought he would work in nursing, nor that he’d find the rewarding career and passion he’s built at St. Ann’s in Dover.
The Pathways scholarship program is Talyn’s pathway to her dream of becoming a nurse. But for her, what’s really special is how it’s given her kids a powerful message: that you can do anything that you set your mind to.
Danielle was a single mother who was struggling. She shares how working at CCNH not only provided her with a solid income – but a supportive environment that helped her move her life forward.
What St. Ann Rehabilitation and Nursing Center employees are saying:
“Helping people gives me great joy. If you get enjoyment out of knowing you’ve made someone else’s day a little better, your life will be much more fulfilled.”
– Michael Romero, LNA
“St. Ann’s is like no other place I’ve been – it’s a small setting, it’s clean, and it really feels like home. That makes coming to work easy and I honestly don’t really look at it as a job. You’re caring for somebody, which is rewarding, and no matter how challenging a day might be, the residents always put a smile on my face.”
– Talyn Boardman, LNA
“St. Ann’s is small but there is a real sense of family here and everybody knows each other. It’s important because we know that personal things happen and we’re able to help someone cope with those things, or even adjust schedules, so each staff member can have both work and life be comfortable.”
– Susan Savage, LPN
“St. Ann is more than a great place to work. You become part of a family – a family that takes pride in helping the residents in our care. The bond that develops between the residents and their families is heartwarming and a constant reminder that we do make a difference.”
– David Sanders, Senior Director of Environmental Services
“St. Ann’s is small but there is a real sense of family here and everybody knows each other. It’s important because we know that personal things happen and we’re able to help someone cope with those things, or even adjust schedules, so each staff member can have both work and life be comfortable.”
– Danielle Westcott, RN
“There’s a lot of positive energy here. We do a lot of things like our staff breakfast, that help build morale but it’s also that we pull together to serve the purpose of making a home for our residents and taking care of them. So, it’s rewarding and it’s a fun place to work.”
– Krista Charles, SSA/LNA
